Later...got time for 20 years? Well, as you can see my profile is much about St. Bernards and rescue. I went off on disability a couple years ago due to some significant vision loss due to Retinitis Pigmentosa, a degenerative retinal eye disease that eventually leads to blindness. Recently I was invited to get more involved with St. Bernard Rescue, and began fostering the big lovable lugs, temperment testing dogs for the program, locating and building a network of foster homes for saints awaiting adoption or needing care prior to adoption, and processing adoptions, surrenders, and other biz related to rescue. It's so far been time consuming and quite rewarding...all without the nagging paperwork and buerocracy of human services and excessive government oversight. Prior to going off on disability, I supervised an urban substance abuse/mental health clinic. I also treated convicted sexual offenders in an outpatient program while on parole/probation supervision....loved the clinical work, hated the administrative/paperwork aspect of it. Difficult to do with full sight....even harder while you're losing it! I married my college sweetheart, and we have beautiful four-legged children who are spoiled rotten and smarter than your honor student (really want that bumper sticker LOL). Wanna know more?
